Charity

The main focus of this tournament other than playing this great game is to generate money for the Blood Bike Scotland charity. Please read below what Blood Bikes Scotland is about.
When time is of the essence, we deliver essential medical items on demand between hospitals, healthcare facilities and patients’ homes, supporting both primary and secondary healthcare services.
Our agile operational model means that blood, blood products, specimens, medications, documents and smaller pieces of medical equipment are transported swiftly and securely to where they are urgently needed. We deliver a high-quality service, free of charge, 365 days a year in all weathers, providing significant cost savings to NHS Scotland – always with professionalism and a smile.
Our charity is entirely funded by voluntary donation – both private and corporate – and receives no payment from government or the NHS. It has been a fundamental principle of Blood Bikes Scotland since inception that no one takes a salary or any form of remuneration.

Tournament Rules

At its core the tournament rules will follow current NAF guidance for all NAF tournaments. Any changes made to these guidelines between now and the deadline stated above in details will be incorporated into the tournament rules with notifications being put on the event Facebook page.
Doonhamer Bowl is a resurrection style tournament. This means that all rosters will be reset after each round. Your players will not gain any SPP throughout the matches, no casualties will continue into the next match and you will not earn any additional income after matches.

Roster Creation

All tiers will be given a gold value of 1,100,000 gold crowns which is to create an initial roster. Star players are permitted and you may include these within your roster, however you must first have a roster of 11 standard players (non stars).
You may also spend a portion of your roster gold on inducements. More information on which inducements are permitted can be found in the inducement section.
Your gold can not be used to add skills to players on the awarded skill points (SP) can be used for this. Any left over gold will be lost after the roster submission deadline.
Rosters have to be submitted onto Tourplay no later than 2359 on Friday 27th March 2026

Race Tiers

This tournament is a tiered tournament. This places all of the races into tiers based on how competitive they are. The top tiers will gain less additional bonuses with the bottom tiers gaining more. This helps to try and level out the playing field, allowing all races to be competitive within the tournament.
Each team has been assigned a tier as shown below
Tier 1 (7 SP)
Amazons, Dark Elf, High Elf, Lizardman, Norse, Old World Alliance, Underworld Denizens, Wood Elves.
Tier 2 (8 SP)
Bretonnian, Chaos Dwarf, Dwarf, Elven Union, Human, Imperial Nobility, Necromantic Horror, Orc, Shambling Undead, Skaven, Tomb Kings, Vampire, Slann (If at the annual review they are no longer supported by the NAF then they will be removed from the available teams for this tournament).
Tier 3 (9 SP)
Black Orc, Chaos Chosen, Chaos Renegade, Khorne, Nugle.
Tier 4 (10 SP)
Gnomes, Goblin, Hafling, Ogre, Snotling
Aside from the starting base skills you will receive additional SP you can use to add additional skills on players on your roster. Depending on what tier you are in depends on how many SP you get. This can be found above in the tier breakdown. There are a few restrictions and these are listed below. In this tournament there are no restrictions on elite skills and no limit on the number of times a skill can be taken.
Primary skills cost 1 SP.
Secondary skills cost 2 SP, no more than 1 secondary skill may be taken between tiers 1-3. No more than 2 secondary skills may be taken between tiers 4-5.
Star players cost 3 SP.
Mega stars cost 6 SP.
No player may be given more than 1 skill.
No statistical increases may be taken.
Star players or mega stars may not be given an extra skill.
No random skills.

Round Times

Each round will be 2 hours and 15 minutes. There will be a hard dice down. The TO will be shouting time remaining throughout the round. If a coach requests to use a chess clock then his opponent must accept the use. It is recommended that one is used at the start of the game to be fair. If a player has run out of time on his clock and his opponent still has time then the player who has run out of time is only allowed to stand up prone players on his turn. When the TO shouts dice down the game ends immediately and you must record your score as it is at that point.

The tournament will use the following scoring:

Venue & Amenities

Venue Address:

Lochabriggs Village Hall Dumfries

For parking look for Blanc Space which is a 2 minute walk from the venue.
This is free parking and please use her as the venue is in the middle of a residential area and we don’t want to upset the local residents.
There is a Spar convenience store, and a chip shop less than a 5 minute walk from the venue, a tesco petrol station with a larger selection of food and drink a 5 minute drive, and a KFC and McDonalds about a 10 minute drive from the venue so there are plenty of options for the 1 hour lunch break.
