Creating a Tournament

Set up your first event on ScoreBB.

Creating a New Tournament

  1. From My Tournaments, click Create Tournament
  2. Fill in the basic details:
    • Name - Your tournament's name
    • Location - Venue, city, and country
    • Dates - Start and end dates
    • Capacity - Maximum number of participants

Editing Tournament Details

Once created, the Details page has four tabs for managing all tournament information. Most fields save automatically as you change them.

Details Tab

The main tab for core tournament information:

  • Name - Your tournament's display name
  • Shareable URL - Generate a clean, permanent link (see below)
  • Dates - Start date, end date, and roster deadline
  • Venue - Venue name, address, and interactive map plotting
  • Details - Coach cap (maximum participants), entry fee, and NAF sanctioned toggle
  • Description - Rich text editor for event information, schedule, prizes, and guidelines

Media Tab

Upload branding images for your tournament:

  • Logo - Square image (1:1 ratio), max 500KB. Displayed in listings and tournament header.
  • Banner - Wide image (3:1 ratio), max 2MB. Displayed at the top of your tournament page.

External Links Tab

Add links to external resources:

  • Rules link - URL to your rules pack or document
  • TalkFantasyFootball link - Link to your event's TFF thread
  • NAF link - Link to your event on the NAF website

Sponsors Tab

Add up to 10 sponsors with logos, descriptions, and links. See Sponsors for full details.

Tournament URL (Slug)

ScoreBB lets you generate a clean URL like scorebb.com/tournament/stranglebowl-6. This is optional and can be reset at any time.

  1. Save the tournament with the name you want.
  2. In Details, find Tournament URL (preview).
  3. Click Generate URL.

Notes:

  • The preview updates as you change the name.
  • Use Remove link to clear the URL and generate a new one if needed.

Configuring Preferences

On the Preferences page, set up:

  • Point Scheme - Win/draw/loss points
  • Tiebreakers - How to rank equal scores
  • Bonus Rules - Additional points for achievements
  • Pairing Algorithm - Swiss (Dutch/Monrad) or Random

See Preferences for details.

Publishing Your Tournament

Tournaments start as drafts. When ready, use the status control in the Details page header:

  1. Check the current status badge (Published or Unpublished)
  2. Click Change (pencil)
  3. Confirm the publish/unpublish action

Once published, coaches can find and join your event.

Deleting a Tournament

The Delete Tournament button is in the Details page header. Once a tournament has started (rounds in progress), deletion is blocked to prevent accidental data loss.

Deleting a tournament is permanent and cannot be undone.
