Preferences

Configure scoring, tiebreakers, stats, and other tournament settings. Most settings save automatically as you change them.

Point Scheme

Set how many points participants earn:

  • Win points - Points for winning (default: 3)
  • Draw points - Points for a draw (default: 1)
  • Loss points - Points for losing (default: 0)
  • Concede points - Points for conceding (typically negative, e.g., -15)

Byes automatically award full win points.

Bonus Points

Add rules to award extra points for achievements:

Per-stat rules - Award points for each occurrence:

  • Example: +1 per touchdown scored
  • Optional: Skip the first N, cap at maximum per game

Threshold rules - Award points when a condition is met:

  • Example: +1 if touchdown difference >= 2

Bonus points are calculated automatically when game results are entered.

Changes to bonus rules trigger automatic standings recalculation across all games.

Tie-breakers

When participants have equal points, tie-breakers determine rankings.

  1. Select which tie-breakers to use
  2. Drag to set priority order (first = highest priority)
  3. At least one tie-breaker is required

See Tiebreakers for details on each tie-breaker.

Pairing Algorithm

Choose how pairings are generated:

  • Swiss (Monrad) - Pairs adjacent players (1v2, 3v4)
  • Swiss (Dutch) - Pairs top-half vs bottom-half of score groups
  • Random - Completely random pairings

Round 1 always defaults to Random regardless of this setting.

See Pairing Algorithms for detailed explanations.

Stat Tracking

Configure which stats to track:

  • Touchdowns and casualties - Always tracked
  • Fouls - Optional, enable to track fouls committed
  • Custom stat - Track any stat (e.g., Strangles, Chainsaw Kills)

When enabled, these appear in game results entry and standings.

Touchdowns and casualties are always tracked and cannot be disabled. Use custom stats for tournament-specific metrics like Strangles or Chainsaw kills.

Coach Names

Control how participant names display in public views:

  • Real name - Show real names only (e.g., "John Smith")
  • NAF name - Show NAF names where available
  • Both - Show "Real Name (NAF Name)" format

Organisers always see real names in the management console.

Rounds

The maximum number of rounds for your tournament is configured on the Rounds page under the Settings tab. See Running Rounds for details.
