Standings Explained
Standings determine participant rankings throughout and at the end of your tournament.
In Manage Tournament > Standings, there are two tabs:
- Standings - Ranking table and scoring summary
- Awards - Podium and stat-based awards
How Rankings Work
Participants are ranked by:
- Total points (primary)
- Tiebreakers (in your configured order)
Point Scheme
Configure how many points participants earn for each game result:
| Result | Default |
|---|---|
| Win | 3 points |
| Draw | 1 point |
| Loss | 0 points |
| Concession | 0 points |
| Bye | Full win points (automatic) |
Concession points are applied when a game is marked as conceded. Typically a negative value (e.g., -15) to penalise the conceding player.
Set your point scheme in Preferences > Scoring.
Tiebreakers
When participants have equal points, tiebreakers determine who ranks higher. Configure these in Preferences > Tiebreakers. See Tiebreakers for the full list, explanations, and suggested setups.
Bonus Points
Add bonus point rules for specific achievements. Common examples:
- +1 for scoring 3+ touchdowns
- +1 for causing 3+ casualties
- +1 for winning by 2+ touchdowns
Configure bonus rules in Preferences > Bonus Points. Points are applied automatically when game results meet the rule conditions.
Bonus rule changes trigger automatic standings recalculation across all games.
Scoring Summary
A callout at the top of the Standings tab displays the active point scheme and any bonus rules in effect. This gives participants and organisers a quick reference for how points are awarded.
Standings Table
The standings table displays:
- Position - Current ranking
- Coach - Participant name
- Points - Total tournament points
- W/D/L - Win, draw, and loss record
- TD For/Against - Touchdowns scored and conceded
- CAS For/Against - Casualties caused and suffered
Optional columns appear when enabled in Preferences:
- BHZ - Buchholz tiebreaker value
- SB - Sonneborn-Berger tiebreaker value
- Fouls - Fouls committed
- Custom Stat - Your tournament-specific stat column
Standings are ordered by total points, then your configured tiebreaker order.
Awards Tab
The Awards tab showcases top performers across categories. See Awards for full details.
Awards include:
- Overall Podium - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place based on standings
- Touchdown Awards - Most scored, least conceded
- Casualty Awards - Most caused, most suffered
- Foul Awards - Most fouls committed (if enabled)
- Custom Stat Awards - Top performers in your custom stat (if configured)
- Stunty Cup - Recognises the best-performing stunty team
Spread the Wealth
The Spread the Wealth toggle on the Awards tab is a planning preview. It redistributes awards so each participant appears at most once, including podium and Stunty Cup.
This preview does not persist and does not change participant-facing awards.
Visibility Controls
Control what participants can see during the tournament:
- Hide top N positions - Keep the leader hidden to maintain suspense
- Hide all standings - Participants see nothing until you reveal
- Hide awards - Stat leaders remain hidden
These controls are configured in Manage Tournament > Visibility.
Organisers always see full standings regardless of visibility settings. See Hiding Standings for details.
When Standings Update
Standings recalculate automatically in real time when:
- A game result is entered or updated
- A result is reset or modified by organiser override
- Point scheme, bonus rules, or tiebreaker settings change
Public standings refresh automatically every 60 seconds, so viewers may see changes on the next refresh cycle.
